Bundesliga Set To Return This Weekend

While discussions continue amongst the various English associations about how and when to start playing football again, it appears to be full steam ahead in Germany where the Bundesliga has announced plans to reboot their season.

Bundesliga Is Back

“We can safely state the first phase of the pandemic is behind us,” announced German chancellor Angela Merkel, giving clubs the go-ahead to start playing behind closed doors on May 16th.

“Even from other European countries, and indeed all over the world, people will be looking at us,” Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer told Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

“This is an enormous responsibility for us, which we must be aware of with every fibre. We must be aware that it is also important to us now.”

Bayern currently lead the Bundesliga by four points over second place Borussia Dortmund.
